Case Study // The Roving Gym
- Walking into the gym can be intimidating. Especially if it’s been a while since your last visit. And who has the time to go regularly? The Roving Gym is a mobile fitness center that brings the expert trainers, equipment and support to you – in your home, office, or location of your choice.
From the beginning, the founders of The Roving Gym planned to franchise out the business. So as they prepared to launch their initial location, they knew they needed a look that could compete with big guys, and would stand the test of time.
Enter Water Design Studio.
Water Design was hired to create and launch The Roving Gym brand.
- Because the gym does not have a store front, our first suggestion was to wrap their vehicles with unforgettable graphics. Even the fact that their message was delivered in traffic emphasized their brand promise – personal training when it works for you, in the privacy of your space.
The campaign focused on sales collateral, vehicle wraps and trade show panels with graphics that were bold, stylish and spoke directly to the target. Bright color blocks were used to highlight different exercises, and silhouetted illustrations were used to reinforce privacy.
The results? “When I tell people I own The Roving Gym, they always say ‘I’ve seen your cars!!’” says Christina Todd. “Our whole look makes it easy to talk to new people about our concept because they feel like they already know us.” Winning an Addy for the vehicle wrap was a wonderful bonus.
